Your Guide to Collecting Health Data Everyday
Mini-Course | April 28–May 2, 2025
Welcome to your mini-course assignment! Your mission is to collect personal health data daily. This task will sharpen your skills in data collection, organization, and analysis. You’ll gain hands-on experience with real-world data, setting the stage for amazing insights. Let’s dive into your health journey!
You’ll join a team of 5 peers at the start of the course. Data collection is your individual responsibility—track your health data daily! Team up to brainstorm ideas, share tips, and tackle challenges together. Collaboration makes it more fun!
Choose health metrics that are relevant to your well-being. Here are some ideas to get started:
Steps, distance walked, exercise time, calories burned.
Hours slept, sleep quality, bedtime, wake-up time.
Water intake, calories, meals, macros (carbs, protein, fats).
Mood (happy, stressed), stress levels, meditation time.
Weight, temperature, screen time, or anything meaningful.
You’ll get a physical notebook to log your daily health data. Use any format you like and adapt as you go!
Try digital tools like Excel or Google Sheets to organize your data.
Got a smartwatch or app (like Fitbit or Apple Health)? Use them, but make sure to transfer the data to your notebook for consistency.
On the final day, use your complete dataset to analyze and visualize your health journey. Chat with your group regularly—share insights, challenges, and trends to make the most of your data.
